The Whale! I spent a year at Cherry Point NC, home of the 2nd MAW. The recon squadron was half Whales and half RF8s. Pilots needed be checked out in both types. The guys would get used to the slow responses of the whale and then get in trouble when they would try to fly the RF8. They would use the same stick actions they could get away in the Whales and end up crashing the RF8s on landing.
